How to use/set up Enlightenment???

Hey guys...

I've managed to do my first Gentoo install.. from Stage 2... (they weren't kidding when people say it take about a week to instal Gentoo)...

I've got the base system installed on my notebook... i have installed Enlightenment 16 and FluxBox... when I start Enlightenment... I just get a screen.. and when i click for the menu, it's empty.. so I really can't do a SINGLE THING in E... So I'm using FluxBox for now..because I don't want to spend the 20+ hours to compile KDE...

Can someone help me out with this?

The stable Enlightenment ebuild has some problems. Try getting the ~x86 version (as in the ebuild has not been tested much yet). It is the latest stable release (16.7).

mkdir /etc/portage
touch /etc/portage/package.keywords
echo x11-wm/enlightenment ~x86 >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
emerge -pv enlightenment
#see what dependencies it complais about, and add them too to package.keywords like you did with enlightenment
emerge enlightenment

Then it should work

Yeah, I had trouble with the enlightenment ebuild as well but I just compiled it from source and it worked great.
