How to use binary file distcc...please..

Hi,
I downloaded a tar file of distcc. It is a c compiler. I installed it.I found its binary file.And opened it with ./distcc command. But it didn't worked.Actually ıt worked but it just gave information about the program , not activated it. If you help I would be glad..

try man distcc or distcc --help

I would imagine you have to supply it with arguements?

"60-second instructions:

1. For each machine, download distcc unpack, and do
./configure && make && sudo make install
2. On each of the servers, run distccd --daemon, with --allow options to restrict access.
3. Put the names of the servers in your environment:
export DISTCC_HOSTS='localhost red green blue'
4. Build!
cd ~/work/myproject; make -j8 CC=distcc "

Followed those steps?
