how to use arecord and aplay at the same time


Hi,

I would like to record at the same time where I play a sound.
(i can than looking into the recorded file to see if there is a sound with minimun signal strength, its for testing if speaker mic are working)
problem is with
arecord .....&
aplay ...

arecord complains that the device is blocked.

how can I run them in the same time?

it works, I do just have to open 2 terminals
aplay .... & has sent the stuff into the background, so I did call it wrong
