I have decided to upgrade the X server on Fedora 3 and downloaded X11R6.8.2-src.tar.
Well, I have keyed in

> make World &> xc.log

and for about few minutes, the make is yet to complete.

OK, I am looking for quick answer, despite search through the READMEss for the intallation steps. (I have read the README.txt in /xc, but no installation steps inside). May I know what's the step to upgrade X server from 6.8.1 to 6.8.2 on Fedora Core 3?

Reason to upgrade: I am running on Dell D610 and Intel915GM display adapters, having some problems with the display and resolution settings.

Try downloading the source rpm from FC4 updates and building the rpm packages. A little editing of the spce file to remove the FC4 versioning might be nice if desired.
