How to upgrade Firefox 1.0.2 to 1.0.6 from source?

I use Ubuntu Hoary which has Firefox 1.0.2 loaded onto the system.

How can I upgrade from 1.0.2 to 1.0.6?

Are there any dependencies which need to be resolved?

Do I need to reconfigure a JRE plugin?

go to, and press advanced search, the select the boxes that will present only debian (.deb) results. Debian and Ubuntu .deb files are interchangable. This is probably the safest and easiest way to do it. Or (i don't know Ubuntu well) run their security updates tool.

From experience I know that one should not mix and match Debian and Ubuntu binaries, even if the Debian ones are compiled better.
