How to update the LensFun database in Darktable?

Hello all. (Nearly-brand-new Linux user here)

Does anyone know if it is possible to update the LensFun data (for lens correction) in DarkTable?

I have a lens that is not listed in the lens correction module of DarkTable, but it IS listed in version 0.2.8 of LensFun (see http://lensfun.berlios.de/lenslist/)

I see from a blog comment on the DarkTable.org website that Lensfun can be installed via the repository, but the commentor didn't see the new data appear in DarkTable (see http://www.darktable.org/2013/07/hav...ns-calibrated/)

So does anyone know if this can, in fact, be done? If so what are the exact steps (new Linux user here...)?

Thanks much!

Long time, but maybe some other can help himself out.

for ubuntu and mint ubuntu based realeases (do not do this for debian or mint DE)

add from console: ppa:pmjdebruijn/darktable-release

as told here https://launchpad.net/+help-soyuz/ppa-sources-list.html
find link on page->read installation instructions
basicly insert ppa, accept key, and thereafter get apt-update.

now install latest darktable (1.6.3 at the moment) and lensfun-data from your software manager (synaptics for example or from console directly)

and it works... with latest lens-fun.
