How to uninstall (or at least disable) MRTG
I have a server that's throwing a bunch of errors from what I think was an install of MRTG. We don't actually use it, think someone who's no longer here installed it to play with it. Any ideas how to disable it or remove it completely? I've never used it before.

rjo98,
It depends on how they installed it. If they followed the typical install instructions, there should be a file /etc/rc.d/mrtgd. You can delete that and the installed software folder mrtg, again... typically at /usr/local/mrtg or /var/html/www/mrtg. Be sure to d a /etc/rc.d/mrtgd stop, first, to stop the running service.
HTH!

Thanks. I renamed the cfg file in /etc/mrtg, and also I disabled this cron'd task that looked like it was for this.
LANG=C LC_ALL=C /usr/bin/mrtg /etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg --lock-file /var/lock/mrtg/mrtg_l --confcache-file /var/lib/mrtg/mrtg.ok
Do you think I'm safe to delete all the directories listed in that command? I'd hate to delete them then have the server not start up properly.
Looks like I also have stuff in /var/www/mrtg. like html files, png and other graphics

You should be safe to delete those folders. MRTG installs indeendently of the OS. If a cron job was used to run MRTG, there may not be a /etc/rc.d/mrtgd file. The /var/www/mrtg folder is just the "results" of the mrtg corn job... If you are deleting everything else, these can be deleted as well.
