How to uninstall nvidia drivers installed from nvidia's site

I was unable to get the nvidia drivers working by installing them with apt-get or by using module assistant. I downloaded the latest drivers from nvidia's site (the .run package) and now they are working.

The only thing that bugs me is I have no clue how I would uninstall them. Not that I need to right now, I just would like to know how. Can anyone help?

There is extensive documentation installed (/usr/share/doc/NVIDIA_GLX-1.0/README.txt) when you run the package, which is also on the same web page that you got the download from. It says:

'nvidia-installer' options

--uninstall

    During installation, the installer will make backups of any conflicting
    files and record the installation of new files. The uninstall option
    undoes an install, restoring the system to its pre-install state.

Hi !

nvidiainstaller --uninstall
u must be in "runlevel 3" to peform the operation
"NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9639-pkg1.run" - works with the specified version and the versions older than that.
