How to Uninstall Nvidia Driver and Install old one

hi, i bought a new amd computer with Msi Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT, and i have a problem with some video colors,(pple faces are blue for example) especially with realplayer´s RMVB. When i Install a SO , Ubuntu 8.04 (kde or gnome), Mandriva 2008.1 (kde or gnome) they work perfectly, but when I enable the graphical acceleration to run Compiz, it just turn the video colors. I tried Mandriva 2008.0 and with the acceleration, all worked perfectly for the vids.

I want to Uninstall those drivers that the SO bring with the installation, and get and old one like in version 2008.0 of mandriva...

How can i uninstall the new driver that bring the SO like Ubuntu or mandriva and install an old one?

Thanks

Download the desired Linux driver from nvidia.com. Make sure you have the gcc and kernel-header packages for your current kernel installed in Ubuntu.

Run 'sudo sh NVIDIA-what-you-just-downloaded.run' in a command shell.

The old driver will be overwritten.

There are other ways especially for Ubuntu, but this one works as well.
