How to uninstall Mozilla and use RPM Version

RH 7.3 I installed Mozilla 1.5 using the installer program from mozilla.org. It is version 1.5. Want to replace it with RPM version. I successfully installed 1.6 using RPM but when I attempt running 1.6 it just returns to command prompt with no action. 1.5 still works OK. I moved the .mozilla directory in my home directory but the behavior is still the same.

I'd just like to get rid of the installer version 1.5 and stick with RPM version 1.6. I do need to save bookmark, etc and understand I can do that by saving the user profile information that is in the .mozilla directory.

Simply delete the folder

/usr/lib/mozilla

and if you want to get rid of all of the associated settings that you currently have, delete

/home/you*/.mozilla

Thanks for the advice. A few more details:

I run slocate to make sure it is up to date.
I run locate mozilla and get lots of stuff in these directories:

/usr/local/mozilla
and
/usr/lib/mozilla-1.6

Without knowing exactly what should be there it appears that there are two complete installations. One that came from the mozilla installer and the other from the 1.6 RPM.

The only thing in /usr/lib/mozilla is a plugins directory
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ with a couple of things.

I didn't actually delete the /usr/lib/mozilla directory but changed its name.
I also moved my /home/me/.mozilla to another location for safekeeping.

When I then run mozilla from the command line I get some disk activity for several seconds before a return to the command prompt. The only thing that seems to happen that I can see is that a .mozilla directory is created in my home directory. However, nothing graphical ever happens. (It goes without saying that I am doing this in a terminal window created under X and KDE.)

Any further help is greatly appreciated.

usr/lib/mozilla-x in the actual mozilla install. I should have added that to my original post, sorry. usr/local should just be files that mozilla uses. they are deletable as well.
