How to tell if clamav cron runs

Hello,

Installed clamav on Fedora 7. Got clam-update installed but it didn't create a /etc/clamd.conf so i just created an empty one. Since a man of clamd.conf says if options are not set than it will just do the defaults. But my question is how do I know if it is working.

Thanks,
Chris

Maybe have it log it's activity (be verbose, if nothing else helps) and check the logfile?

What do you mean exactly now, that you want to know if cron job runs clamav-something when it's supposed to, or if clamav updates it's data when it's supposed to?

Sorry, but i am still learning about logs and logging on linux systems. What log would that show up in? I just want to know if the cron job actually does update the definitions.

Thanks,
