How to start KWord

Hi folks,

FedoraCore2

I could not start "KWord"

On KDE desktop
KStart > Office > More Office Application > KWord

could not get it started. Neither can I find it.

$ which kword
/usr/bin/which: no kword in (/usr/local/globus/bin:/usr/local/globus/sbin:/usr/kerberos/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr
/bin:/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_04/bin:/usr/local/apache-ant-1.6.1
/bin:/usr/local/pgsql/bin:/home/satimis/bin:/usr/local/apache-ant-1.6.1/bin:/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_04/bin)

$ rpm -qa | grep kword
no printout

# yum search kword

I suppose "KWord" is part of KDE. Please advise how to get it started.

KWord should be part of KOffice, so you must install KOffice to use KWord

I also have fedora and there is no kword.
for a simple text editor use kwrite or gedit.
for an document editor like Ms - Word
use Open Office writer
Is kword so important for you?

Hi,

Tks for your advice.

I discovered that KOffice in not running on my FC2 box. KWord is a package of KOffice.

KDE desktop
KStart > Office > More Office Application > KWord

confused me. I don't know why it is there.

I also use OOo. It was only by chance clicking "KWord"
