How to Start Kompozer in CentOS 7

Greetings,

I'm running CentOS 7 with the KDE Plasma desktop and I just downloaded Kompozer into my Downloads directory and moved the tar.gz file into the etc directory and untared it.

Kompozer doesn't show up either in the Desktop or even when I search for it in the apps section. I know it's all there as I can see the breakout in the /etc/kompozer directory.

In console mode I key in kompozer and it still doesn't start. Also I'm in the kompozer directory.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Where did Kompozer install to?
Then go to that directory and check out, which files are executable.

Untared the Kompozer 'tar.gz' file into the 'etc' directory

[root@localhost kompozer]# /.kompozer
bash: /.kompozer: No such file or directory

[root@localhost kompozer]# / .kompozer
bash: /: Is a directory
[root@localhost kompozer]#

Still does not work...

You should install kompozer into /usr/bin or /usr/local/bin.
/etc is for config files.

You should uncompress source files in your /home/user directory. Then install them from there.

KompoZer latest version seems to be from the year 2010. It's reasonable to look for alternatives at this point. Seamonkey (ex Mozilla suite) includes a wysiwyg editor very similar to KompoZer, maybe try installing that from the repositories?

yum install seamonkey

For other alternatives, google "kompozer alternatives". Alternativeto.net seems to have a decent list.
