How do I start JRioUtil for Rio MP3 Player

I have a Rio s30 mp3 player with 256 meg sd card, currently use windows on my laptop to interface with it. Goal is to get my Linux desktop working with it.

I have librioutil1-1.4.6.1-1mdk and rioutil-1.4.6.1-1mdk rpm's installed. I also have jrioutil-1.0.jar located at /home/don/Desktop/Rio.

In console, su , then type rioutil, I get flashed with the rioutil command options. Then if I cd to /home/don/Desktop/Rio and type java -jar jrioutil.jar I get message Unable to access jarfile jrioutil.jar
.

I do not wish to play in command line with my mp3 player, so need the jrioutil gui frontend running.

If needed my java version and placement is /usr/java/j2re1.4.2_05/bin.

Guess the joke is on me

I get bummed when I find no help and problems get buried with no responses(doesn't happen often), so I thought I would dig up this old thread for those who got Rio mp3 players this Xmas.

Have a 256mg Rio Cali. Installed rioutil, and jrioutil. Tried to list contents of Cali at command line (su'd) under rioutil and it did not find device. Worse off than when I played with the Rio s30.

Since using iPod's I know I can access it under /mnt as a storage device. Turns out I had a removable device listed with Cali plugged in. That is just too easy, who would have thunk it. Sure enough opening device I find all folders of the tunes that come on this device. Transferred one of my own to it and sure enough it works!

So bottom line is, I am now using Krusader as file manager as it has a double pane window, which it seems some of the other file managers have gotten away from. Also Cali is accessable as regular user. The Cali has the same windoze software as my old s30 had so I assume had I thought to check for it in /mnt/removeable I would have had it working and not flogged it.
