How to start debian config tool?

When i installed kernel 2.6 on my debian box, it came up with a setup tool which asked about my locals and which soundsystem to use.
I would like to restart that tool.. What is the command?

Do you mean when you first setup the system and went through the configuration screens? If so then you want base-config otherwise almost everything else can be changed by using dpkg-reconfigure package_to_be_changed.

Well if using the OSS no reconfiguration should be needed it is just a matter of having the proper module loaded on boot. If using ALSA then you need to run alsaconf as root to select your card then sometimes it is necessary to run the alsamixer as normal user to raise/unmute the Master and PCM channels. Perhaps if you can describe the problem you are having, the steps you having taken to correct it and the make/model of the card we will get to a solution to your problem faster.
