Hi:

Try opening the konsole and type cinelerra.

That should launch the application. If not it may be that there are libraries missing. <OR>
It may need to be configured also so see the Manual.

Hi all,

Following document works for me;

How To Install Cinelerra 4.6 On Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 And Derivative Systems (download on website)
Posted on September 13, 2014 by Geekster
http://linuxg.net/how-to-install-cin...ative-systems/

Previously I installed cinelerra on repo according to following document:-

How-to Install Cinelerra Video Editor Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty
http://tutorialforlinux.com/2015/04/...ux-easy-guide/ (April 15th, 2015 by thelinuxevangelist)

But I was unable to start cinelerra because it crashed immediately after start.

Now I can start it on terminal running;
./cinelerra

Regards
satimis

Users are often are confused in versions of the program.

The site http://cinelerra-cv.org represents the program of CV - version
The site http://cinelerra.org represents the program of HV - version

CV - version

I and Nicola Ferralis (maintainer of ppa for CV) can not reproduce this on our test machines.
If it really is an issue a complete bug reports need to be filed directly to Nicola Ferralis (maintainer of ppa for CV).

You can read here http://cinelerra-cv.org/about.php

I prefer the CV-version
--------------------------

I read your message here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2280715&
Obviously, you run the static-version of the package of HV-version.
Therefore, you do not find the starting icon.
This package-statics does not require installation.
Therefore, you run it from your home directory.
You have to make your own start icon.

On googling I found many similar threads suffering this issue without a solution.

1-Show me one.
2-If the problem really exists, write a report maintainer.
Maintainer is one of the developers of this program, so the problem will be resolved quickly.
