Unhappy How to setup lirc with Digital Now Tiny Twin on Ubuntu 9.04

Hi,

I have a Digital Now Tiny Twin (http://www.digitalnow.com.au). When I was using ubuntu 8.10 I downloaded a program called "Infrared Remote Control" by searching for it in Add/Remove Programs. It had a button "Auto detect". When I clicked it, it found my Tiny Twin receiver. However I got an error when I tried to start the lirc daemon. So I couldn't customise the buttons.

I have now upgrated to ubuntu 9.04. I no longer get an error when I start the lirc daemon. But when I click "Auto detect" in "Infrared Remote Control" it doesn't find my Tiny Twin.

How do I setup lirc manually? My receiver is not on their web site but I know it works because I had it working in ubuntu 8.10.

No I haven't been able to set it up. And lately my digital now tiny twin will only record one show at a time. Apparently they made changes to the driver and now it is broken.

Hmm. Mine didn't work with the supplied driver either - all TV channels had corruption artifacts across them. I solved that one by manually disabling the second tuner (in the driver source code), so I only have one tuner working now too. Still, that one at least is working very well. I plan to go back to look at that again after I get the remote control working.

I am making progress on the remote control and will post a comprehensive solution once I get it all working.

Cheers.
