How to seperate an audio track from a video file?

Hi,

We have made a small video recording of our program on Software Freedom Day, 2005. We now need :

1) To seperate the audio track from the video file.
2) To include it (the audio track) again into the video file after reshaping it.

Reshaping the audio is not my part. I only want to know which software should I use to seperate the audio track from the video and reinserting it agian back into position. So, please inform me the name of the software, if you know (Pls. do not tell me Adobe Premier, I do not use WIN).

Regards
anindya

Have a look at transcode ( http://www.transcoding.org ). I think DVD::Rip is a graphical frontend.
