I have installed dict and dictd server

my config file are
[22:41:45]:--> cat /usr/local/etc/dictd.conf
access {
allow localhost
allow *.workgroup
deny *
}
database deu-ita {
data "/usr/local/dict/deu-ita.dict.dz"
index "/usr/local/dict/deu-ita.index"
}

when I run as root dictd -t (for testing words)
[22:43:20]:--> dictd -t hallo
access {
allow localhost
allow *.workgroup
deny *
}
database deu-ita {
data /usr/local/dict/deu-ita.dict.dz
index /usr/local/dict/deu-ita.index
}
"C" locale can not be used for utf-8 dictionaries

what should I do at this point?

If you use a dictionary like eng-nld with 00databaseutf8 in the index file, then you need to add the option
--locale nl_NL.UTF-8 to dictd
