How to rip or convert files to mp3 in Rythmbox


Anyone knows how to enable this?
when i go to preferences>music and i click on edit beside the preferred format blist, i can see mp3 in there, but there seem to be no way to activate it.

Any clue?

I assume you want to rip an audio CD to MP3. Rythmbox uses Sound Juicer to extract audio i.e Select Music -> Import Audio CD. When Sound Juicer starts you can change the settings i.e. Edit -> Preferences.

Have you tried installing libmpeg3?

just set it in the Rythmbox preferences
edit / preferences
then click on the " music" tab and on the bottom of the window
set " preferred format" to mp3
restart Rythmbox

that is it .

that is how i get mp3's for gtkpod to install on the ipod
