how to resolve this error?

Hi, I've just got a minute to play in old good game called Elite, but once I've downloaded and try to start it I've got this error:
Quote:
./elite: relocation error: ./elite: symbol _dl_catch_error, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file ld-linux.so.2 with link time reference
can anyone give me advice on how this could be fixed?

I can't know exactly, what is your problem. But I have an idea. This game probably uses dynamic (*.so) libraries. They must be located in one of directories, that dynamic linker looks (listed in /etc/ld.so.conf). Copy (or crate symbolic link) these libreries to one of these directories. If this doesn't help, provide additional info about where did you download this game, e.t.c.

thanks for reply John! the game was downloaded from this page: http://thoran.free.fr/download.html
I would like to try your way but I'm not sure what the name of the files I should look for, so I can point to them later in ld.so.conf?
