How to resize pictures in Scribus

Plan on taking some pictures with my digital camera to make Christmas
cards. But any of my digital pictures seem to be way to big when I
bring them in to the program. I only get a fraction of the picture. How do I re-size the picture in Scribus
to get the whole picture?

I am just learning Scribus, so take with salt.

It seems that the trick is to open the picture in GIMP and resize there. After saving in GIMP, you click something like "update" in Scribus to capture the changes made in GIMP.

It is not at all like how MSWord or OpenOffice treat pictures, but I think I could get to like it.
