Question How to render GXL in a browser?

I have a need to display graphs in a browser. The graphs consist of circular or elliptical nodes with text labels, connected by lines with text labels. They come in the form of GXL (an XML type, with a DTD), which includes the layout dimensions, labels, etc.

I am a relative newbie to the web, and would like to know if I can reasonably expect to write an XSLT or CSS filter that will cause the GXL to display in a browser. As far as I can see, XSLT and CSS are happy with things like buttons and tables, but elliptical or circular objects placed at certain dimensions, and labeled with text, are beyond them.

What is the technology I need?

Thanks
