how to recover data ? my file system is currupt!


hi all!
some how i am unable to view the contents of /home directory.
there was a lot of data in that folder .
i have run system repair, bur not usefull.
pl help me!

i think you need another linux-installed HDD.
and join together(slave-master) in your computer.

boot from the normal.
and mount /dev/hd1 /mnt/brokenhdd something.

cp -r /mnt/brokenhdd/home/* /home

--
Note that this is just one of the methods.
for more search the google, alltheweb,etc.

What kind of an error message do you get when you try to ls /home ?
