Question How to re-enable a IRQ

[15986.754105] irq 19: nobody cared (try booting with the "irqpoll" option)
[15986.754161] Disabling IRQ #19

My CD drive is no longer recognizing when a new disk is inserted. I'm assuming this is the cause as the other drive on different controller is working fine.

How do I re-enable the IRQ without rebooting?

It could be an IRQ conflict or a driver issue.

Can you post the output of:

Code:
lspci -v
cat /proc/interrupts

Every time the problem happens, it's when there are many errors reading a disk.

[49808.096396] Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 2079493
[49816.995980] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] Unhandled sense code
[49816.995984] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] Result: hostbyte=DID_OK driverbyte=DRIVER_SENSE
[49816.995988] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] Sense Key : Medium Error [current]
[49816.995993] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] ASC=0x10 <<vendor>> ASCQ=0x90
[49816.995998] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] CDB: Read(10): 28 00 00 1f bb 04 00 00 02 00
[49816.996007] end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 8317968

Eventually (what seems at random... as in I've had two disks going most of the night with no problem) I get the IRQ 19 problem. (And it only happens with the IRQ 19 one)

There are no other errors in the logs

It looks like 'pata_marvell, firewire_ohci' are the only ones on IRQ 19. I am betting that it is the 'pata_marvell" driver that is the problem.

If you can I would disable the Marvell SATA controller in the BIOS, blacklist the driver, and plug the drive into the other controller's port. This will probably fix it.

If you can't do that, maybe update the kernel. Maybe they fixed the driver.
