how to play vcd on redhat linux 8.0??


how to play vcd on redhat linux 8.0?? i heart that mplayer can play vcd...where can i downlaod it and how to install it??

download the 4 rpms (it's a lot easier and hopefully less problematic than the src),

I can't remember them specifically but you need mplayer-common-xxx, mplayer, mplayer-gui ( i assume you'll want the gui ) , and the mplayer default skin package.

install them all at the same time from the command line (rpm -Uvh <package name here> <next package, etc> ) and then you'll be watchin vcd's in no time.

i downloaded the four rpms in the /usr/share/mplayer and install it... but how to run the mplayer??

Ummm...do:

man mplayer

and you will see all the options given.
