how to open .wmv file


hi
i am not able to open .wmv file using mplayer.How to open it?

are you sure you have the needed codecs? get the "all" codecs package from mplayer's homepage (download section) first...

EDIT: now that I tried it myself, I could neither get wmv video work with my mplayer. something got it jammed..anyway, Xine opened it all right.

I have had a few problems with mplayer and .wmv's. If you have the right codecs try using xine, it seems to work fine for me.
