How to open default irc client using Firefox, Opera, etc. ?

I want to know if it's possible to open default irc client which will connect to my irc channel by clicking a link on Firefox. If it is possible, how?

Well Opera has a built-in irc client, firefox you'd need a plug-in, I think chatzilla is the common one people use for irc in firefox. not sure about the implementation but I'd guess it's possible.
