How to obtain SID for DRM

Well I am working with the latest SVN of MPlayer which has, i've read, the ability to play DRM files. And it looks to be true, but I have one more hurdle to jump to find out for sure it look as though I need to find the SID key. Whether it's of the file or my computer I don't know. How I get the key in either case I don't know. Any help would be...well...helpful. Thanks ya'll.

I don't know sh*t about DRM so I guess it's a computer or user-centric license ID. Tools like FreeMe2 (check the Doom9 fora) should be able to get you the SID in hex format, IIGC.

yeah I got FreeMe2 installed but it won't work, or at least I can't get it to work, on an mms stream. It seems to me you need to download the file.

if mplayer works with mms:// streams you should be able to do dumpstream to get a drm-wmv.

i think freeme2 needs a sid in order to turn the drm-wmv into a non-drm-wmv.

my problem is i use a windows program called drmdbg that is supposed to get sid's but it seems to be pulling up garbage. it used to work.
