how to obtain a host's harware address through C programs in linux
 

i'm new to programming in linux. my project is in linux networking. it is HIGH AVAILABILITY SERVER CLUSTERING. so far we have configured the hardware, and are able to read IP packets. i now want to know how we can obtain harware address of a host given its ip address through a C program. plz help:confused:
