How to mount vfat drive and make it case sensitive

Hi,
I want to mount an USB flash drive to RH8 and make it case sensitive.

I have files that are upper case, when mount the drive, it always show up on the RH8 as lower case.

I have tried the following:
none of them showup as casesensitive when I do
ls -la /mydrive

mount /dev/sda1 /mydrive -t vfat -o check=r
or

mount /dev/sda1 /mydrive -t vfat -o case=upper

The weired thing is: If I copied the files to the Linux hd drive. It is showing up as as uppder case.

I apology if I posted this on the wrong section the of the forum. Thanks for your help.

If you use utf8 as the iocharset it should be case sensitive.
