How to make my Qt application to ask username and password for root privileges?


Iam making a GUI application in Qt that requires user to enter username and password for authentication so that application can perform root privileged action besides application being run by a non-root user. How can i achieve this?

You achieve it by writing your application to DO IT. Not meaning to sound nasty, but you've not really asked a question that anyone here can help with. If you have specific code and you can't make it work, post it and tell us what error(s) you're getting, and we can help. But what you've posted here is "I wrote a program, and want to write more to make it do something else"....all we can tell you from that is "write what you're missing".
