How to make mid-mouse button send key press to application

I'm simply looking for a way to make my scroll button (as a middle mouse button) send the key press Shift+F12 when I'm actively using Firefox.

In other words, when I directly press the scroll wheel (MS intellimouse) I want it to initiate Shift+F12, but only when I'm running Firefox.

Why? Because that's the hotkey Firefox Showcase uses...

Have you tried imwheel?

I can't seem to get it to work in imwheel...

xev shows the middle mouse button is button 2.

So I had this in my .imwheelrc file:

"firefox"
None, Button2, Shift_L|F12

But it doesn't work.

I do have imwheel handling my left and right side mouse buttons (MS intellimouse) in firefox and konqueror, but that's the extent of my .imwheelrc file. But imwheel is working, at least.

I thought perhaps the label or class "firefox" had something to do with it, so I tried things like "^firefox", "firefox-bin", ".*firefox.*" and so on. No go.

So either something is blocking it or I'm doing something completely wrong.
