Lightbulb How to make a "root" for RH 8 ?

On my workstation i have following Partitions

1. NTFS 10 GB
2) NTFS 2 GB - both Win

3) Swap 1 GB
4) ext2 - 7 GB

problem: in the modus "Disk druid" i should specify the root - but how ?

In the installation booklet thing that came with my linux distro (RH8), it says something like this about partitions.

the minimum number of partitions should look like this

swap (a swap partition)
/boot (a boot partition for operating system kernel)
/ ( the root partition * what you need !)

so my advise would be to take a part of that large ext2 partition (i would go for all the 7GB if i were you .... but that's just me), and allocate some for / and everything should work out fine.

Use ext3 or ReiserFS. Journalising means it remembers the last few actions and so deletions and locking from hard reboots is avoided.
