how to load sequence of commands automatically at startup?

Hello

I installed lirc and it works fine but only when I type following
sequence of commands:

modprobe lirc_gpio
ln -s /dev/lirc0 /dev/lirc
/home/mac/lirc-0.8.0/daemons/lircd
irxevent
irexec

I put all off them in a file and gave it exec rights and put it in /etc/rc.d/init.d but it's not working. But when I run this script manually it works. I have Aurox 11.0, it's based on Fedora Core 3.
Where should I put this script so it would run at startup?.

Cheers

Have you tried executing it from /etc/rc.d/rc.local? That is the file I usually use in order to run my own commands at startup.

There is much progress. Now only irxevent and irexec doesn't run.
First three commands run automatically. How can I run these two last programs at startup?. I will only add that these programs are not daemons. When I run them in console they block it. Although putting these two programs in an exec file results in running them both with console blocked. I can create shortcut on the desktop and run them without console. But it would be best if I could run them at startup.

You can usually run a program on background by adding '&' at the end of the command. For instance,
Code:
# yourprog &
This will run yourprog without blocking the terminal.
