How to listen xine through /dev/dsp1

I have 3 sound cards on my machine, but only the second card is 5.1 I see that xine has options to choose driver driver but how can I choose the second or third device of that driver?

Some programs refer to alsa devices as hw(1,0) or so.

Any idea?

First, enter the setup window and select the gui tab, make sure the 'Configuration Experience Level' is set to advanced or higher.

Then under the audio tab you should be able to specify the driver and the device, names like hw:1,0 work fine for my second card in the stereo output device setting, for 5.1 you will have to experiment a bit.
