how to link multiple process dynamically


To,
All Developer,
I have to develop one console based network application in QT 4 which fetch data from the database and transmit on the network. The application also have a GUI part which shows all data on the GUI.I have to link with the GUI process dynamically and then remove it. How can i do this?.

Well if I've understood you correctly, there two solutions:
  1. Use IPC: You can use a technique of Iter-Process-Communication so you have two applications one console based that fork itself to launch the GUI app and then feed it with necessary data.
  2. Use dynamic loading: Here you can develop your GUI as a dynamic library and then use dl* functions to load the library (using dlopen) and get pointer to the appropriate GUI interface functions (using dlsym). This technique is mostly used to load plugins.
