Smile how to know kernel revision number in snapgear3.1.1

HI all

i want to port the kernel 2.6.9 for my targert board with i386 arch. For this i am using snapgear3.1.1 version. In the kernel/library/default selection ,i am able to see the kernel version number ie 2.6.x, how can find the revision number at the time of building the kernel image from snapgear 3.1.1. For this i am using the tool chain i386-linux-20030930.tar.gz .Is there any other packages that are required by me for this snapgear3.1.1 to port kernel 2.6.9 .

And also clear me the packages that are to be installed when using 2.6.9 kernel core. Why because i have downloaded the linux kernel 2.6.9 core, now i want to know what are the packages that are to be installed.

Which is the best way to port linux kernel 2.6.9 on to my target board ie either by using snapgear and some other tool chains or else by using kernel core 2.6.9 with additional packages.

Waiting for your replies.

With best regards,
Sudheervemana.
