How to install YamIpod
I've been trying to install YamIpod in my new ubuntu 5.04. As a former windows user simply I'm not able to do it.
Here is what I did: 1. I downloaded the program to my desktop 2. I created a directory to install it 3. I unpacked it and then I discovered that it created its own directory. That's fine not problem 4. I wrote in the console: sudo apt-get install YamIpod. 5. Then the following message appeared: # sudo apt-get install YamIpod Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done E: Couldn't find package YamIpod 6. I did the same with the file libfmodex.so.4.00.35 # sudo apt-get install libfmodex.so.4.00.35 Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done E: Couldn't find package libfmodex.so.4.00.35 Please could anyone tell me in a simple way what's wrong? What should I do? Thank you very much Riadgoas |
You use apt-get to install packages from the repositories. You can also install .deb packages you downloaded with the dpkg command. The YamIpod download has neither; they just include an executable; so you just run it with "./YamIpod"

Spooon,
Thank you for your answer. I was able to install the program. Now I am dealing with another problem. I don`t know why I don`t have sound. I am able to see all the music I have but I cannot hear it. Anyway thank you very much Riadgoas |
