[SOLVED] how to install vlc player in Fedora?

hey,

i am a new to linux,so can you please help me out on how i could install vlc player on my computer.i have the file in some bz2 form! should i extract it? can you please tell me the command to install vlc player which is placed on my desktop.

My second question is which other browser is best supported by fedora? (except firefox)

It's probably a tar.bz2 file, and use
tar -jzvf yourfile.tar.bz2. That is source code, and you have to start compiling that.

As for installing vlc try
yum list vlc
If it shows you something you like the look of, just try
yum install vlc-whatever.rpm

and you can get it without compiling.

VLC for Fedora : http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-fedora.html

With the rpmfusion repo installed, it's plain # yum install vlc
