Smile How to install software when my repository is closed?

Hello, I am using Ubuntu 11.10. I recently found that the official repository for this version is closed. I do not want to upgrade since this may be risky. Can someone please tell me what is the most reliable and preferred way to install software in this condition?

"when my repository is closed" : Not closed.
But moved to the "Ubuntu Museum for old discontinued releases".

Please replace the file "/etc/apt/sources.list" with this :
Code:
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric main restricted
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric multiverse universe
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric-updates main restricted
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric-updates multiverse universe
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric-backports main restricted
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric-backports multiverse universe
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric-security main restricted
deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric-security multiverse universe
.. And then run $ sudo apt-get update

Keep in mind that yo don't get any security updates for old versions, so you have to decide for yourself which is more risky, using an old version with security holes or switching to a supported version.
