How to install Screensaver?

I was wondering how to install a screensavor on Kanotix. Ive tried just about everything that i can think of. Im still a newbie at this. I apreciate your help.
I did a search and came up with nothing. I searched in Google as well.

Presumably you've installed it to a hard drive ?

Anyway, assuming your sources are up-to-date (you will probably have to add some of the standard Debian mirrors to /etc/sources.list) you should just be able to run (as root)

apt-get update
apt-get install kscreensaver kscreensaver-xsavers xscreensaver

If you are by chance trying to install a screensaver while useing liveCD mode....boot with unionfs or if you don't want to reboot...
cd /usr/local/bin
and execute;
'fix-unionfs.sh"
as root,this will start unionfs.

Now you can apt-get anything you want and install anything you want.
make a persistant home directory and you should be fine with space.
