If you are looking for specific help, you will need to be far more verbous in regards to what specificly you would like help with. No personally I have not installed any operating system on a compaq ML530, I have installed several versions of Red Hat (7, 8, 9, EL 2.1, 3, Fedora Core 1 &2) on various compaq gear (such as DL380s, DL580 & DL760). Admitedly some of these combonations have their own little nasty surpises, but most are managable... For instance DL380s do not do very well at installing from CDs, you can reduce your agravation level considerably by either setting up a network install, or plugging in a external CDrom drive that does not seem to have the same level of heart burn as the built-in CD drive has with those installations.
But as a rule of thumb, in this world fortune favors the bold. Take a shot at the install, there is a very good chance that it will work for you without problems, if there is a problem, post the nature of the issue and see if anyone has light to shed on the matter.
