How to install programs into F9

I want to install 3 programs- Firefox 3.0, evolution2.22.2 (new version) and nerolinux 3.o. I have downloaded the programs onto my desktop. I am using Fedora 9. The issue is that I can not locate an installer.

firefox-3.Orc1.tar.bz2
evolution-2.22.2tar.bz2
nerolinux-3.0.0.0-x86.deb

I am new at linux switching over from Vista so I can use all the detailed help possible.

Thanks

You got to kick the habit of downloading stuff randomly off the internet.

In linux you usually use the package manager, which is the one major reason for most people to use a distribution rather than building the system themselves.

To install stuff you go to:
System - Administration - Add/Remove Software.

In Fedora-9 the firefox-3 beta is already installed.

Do you specifically need any features of the latest Evolution release? Note that the version installed on fedora is merely a couple of months old.
If not, I would strongly recommend you use the one that comes with the distribution. Fedora is cutting-edge enough as it is.

... They ported nero to linux?
The one application nobody asked for! :D

Anyway - you downloaded the .deb file - that's the debian installer. Fedora is an rpm based distribution. (you need the .rpm file)
But I suggest you try gnomebaker, brasero or K3B. I would choose either of them over Nero any day.

I am just used to Nero coming from windows. So, there is not way to install a .deb into Fedora?

Thanks

Nope, but you can download the rpm from the nero page, so...

Taking a wild guess here - you downloaded a cracked version from somewhere and it doesn't include an rpm.
Given that there are free alternatives that don't suck as a bonus, I would just try them.

If you actually bought it, you should be able to download the rpm. There's also an rpm for the demo version.
Are there any nero features that you need specifically?
