how to install pre existing wordpress directory on a existing wordpress to run a web

Hi

I have a web server using ubuntu server 10.04. I configured the server to multiple web hosting. At present I configured 3 web sites and initial configuration works fine.

I just install wordpress in the server and want to run a website using wordpress. I installed wordpress in the home directory from where the website runs. I named my website http://www.abc.org.dev. When I type the web address in the Internet Explorer it seamlessly displays the wordpress home page and I can set up templates through Wordpress administration.

I want to migrate a website (say www.xyz.org.in) to my own server. The original websites (http://www.xyz.org.in) also runs wordpress. I took backup of the original website. Also unpacked and placed all file and folder in my server.

Now how to place all required folder and files of original website (www.xyz.org.in) to replicate the www.xyz.org.in to my "http://www.abc.org.dev"

Thanks

So, if I understand you correctly, you want to migrate a WordPress blog from one server to another.

This should help: http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress

Transferring the files can be done easily through ftp. The trick is in migrating the database.

Hi
Thanks for your information.
As per the suggestion I have gone through the site "http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress"
I placed my all required file in the folder called /home/abc/public_html/wordpress. So far the database is concerned I changed the database as mentioned in the referral website.
Now problem is when ever I try to access www.abc.org.dev I am getting http 500 errors. As a result I cannot get through login or dash board. Here are some error messages.

[Sat Apr 28 23:48:37 2012] [error] [client 10.1.1.2] PHP Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required '/home/abc/public_html/wp-load.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear') in /home/abc/public_html/wp-login.php on line 12

[Sun Apr 29 00:02:50 2012] [error] [client 10.1.1.3] PHP Fatal error: require_once(): Failed.

I can access the readme.html file by typing the address http://www.abc.org.dev/wordpress/readme.html. Through readme.html when I clicked on install wordpress link. It shows wordpress already installed and login link. Login link gives me http 500 error.
I down loaded the back up from the original website say www.xyz.org.in. In the original location all the wordpress files and folder was in public_html folder.

I installed wordpress from the scratch for other location like /home/mysite/public_html/wordpress and Moved index.php into the /home/mysite/public_html/ folder and changed index.php accordingly. It is working fine if I type www.mysite.dev.

By the way I am migrating the site in my home computer. All the sites ended with .dev are available on intranet only for my development purpose.

Is any help to correct this problem?

I will be grateful to you.

Thanks

Have you investigated this line 12 and line 26 in wp-login.php to see exactly what they say? Seems to me that that's the place to start.
