Ok the Plastik theme looks really nice, and I'd like to install it on my regular old Libranet/Debian KDE installation:
http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=7559
I tried downloading it and doing the ./configure make install thing but it gives errors and I can't really spend two weeks figuring out how to do that. So I found these debian files:
http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=8043
and um... another one for woody which i cannot find now. The files on my hard drive are called:
8043-kde-themes-plastik_0.3.7_i386.deb
8148-plastik_0.3.8-1_i386.deb
So first I tried to install the 0.3.8 version because it is newer. I just double clicked it and kpackage came up. I pressed install and it sort of installed but gave me an error. I used synaptic to look up the missing files but it didn't want to cooperate and eventually I used synaptic to "fix broken dependencies", which it did by removing the plastik package. So then I tried double clicking the 0.3.7 version. kpackage did the same thing, but this time I did apt-get -f install, thinking it would remove the package, but instead it installed two dependencies (devel packages) and now Plastik shows up in my window decorations, but not in my styles.
Am I totally screwing up my apt-get now? I am just kind of stupidly stumbling through this stuff. How would I install this theme *and* style the Libranet/Debian way?
