AFAIK there is no apt repository for it. Download opera-static_<version>.deb (stable or preview) and install it with dpkg:
Code:
dpkg -i opera-static_<version>.deb
Updating works the same way, dpkg removes the old version before installing new one.

I think the below shows that the link is no longer updated. 10.50-6201 is the latest linux source

Code:
# apt-cache policy opera
opera:
  Installed: 10.10.4742.gcc4.qt3
  Candidate: 10.10.4742.gcc4.qt3
  Version table:
 *** 10.10.4742.gcc4.qt3 0
        500 http://deb.opera.com sid/non-free Packages
        500 http://deb.opera.com sid/non-free Packages
        500 http://deb.opera.com etch/non-free Packages
        500 http://deb.opera.com lenny/non-free Packages
        500 http://deb.opera.com squeeze/non-free Packages
        500 http://deb.opera.com etch/non-free Packages
        500 http://deb.opera.com lenny/non-free Packages
        500 http://deb.opera.com squeeze/non-free Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

10.50 is pre-alpha. That link gets stable releases immediately.
