I am a Linux-Newbe and I have no idea how to install miraclecast.
Could anyone please help me?
I try to connect my Laptop with my LG-TV.
System is Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamom on an Acer Aspire E 15.
Thank you very much!

What research have you done so far? A search for "linux install miraclecast" gives this as the first link.
See the README.md file therein.
You see that the guy said he is a Newbie, the link is not very helpful for a Newbie. I would help, but I got here trying to find an answer after already hitting the link you provided. I am probably break some rule with this post, but I just do not get this kind of reply to someone looking for help--it is mega annoying and bad form.

Hi norm dill, and welcome to LQ!.
I'm sorry you found my post unhelpful. It appeared to me that the README file on that page led to several options and directions to effect the installation of the software. What on those pages did you find unhelpful?
The rule(s) you broke with your post, as I understand them, are these:
Quote:
Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated.
Do not post if you do not have anything constructive to say in the post.
When posting in an existing thread, ensure that what you're posting is on-topic and relevant to the thread. If the content of your post will interfere with the current discussion, you should start a new thread.
(emphasis added)
So, if you feel that the attempt I made to assist the OP was lacking, the appropriate response would be to provide some assistance yourself. What have you learned in your searches about installing that software that would benefit the LQ community?
Again, welcome. We're all looking forward to your contributions.
Just to point this out to the new members, welcome to LQ and if you do feel that there is an issue with a thread, just use the report and let one of the mod's or jeremy look at it.
I actually tried to edit OP's post to fix name but it really is miraclecast a miracast tool for linux.
The most easy way to install a program in linux is to use the built in package management program. Might be called software or some other name where they have a collection of programs ready to install with a single click.
Now once you go outside of that package manager things get more difficult.
To make it more difficult you will have to learn how to go outside of the package manager and install the program by means of an outside build or you will have to built it. That isn't totally easy for a new user. However, using the read me file tends to get one started.
