How to install Java Runtime Environment in Mozilla ?

¢×got the following message

[root@localhost Programs]# rpm -iv jre-1.3.1_13.i586.rpm
Preparing packages for installation...
package jre-1.3.1_13-fcs is already installed
However, when I check about plug-in in Mozilla, it showed nothing about Java, why ????

:confused:

jre-1.3 does not have a plugin compiled with gcc-3.2. Mozilla is compiled with gcc-3.2. You need to install jre-1.4.2. I would recommend the self extracting binary as the rpm is a pain in the arse http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/faqs/java.html#Linux
