Is this a registered copy of RHEL5, because firefox 3 should be in the RHN repos IIRC?

The standard proceedure is;

Quote:
yum install package
In this case it would be;

Quote:
yum install firefox
or

Quote:
yum update firefox

If ur not registered with RHN,don't worry.

U just download the package and extract it.
Keep the extracted in safe dir where it can't be found by ohers.
Then right click on the Applications menu and select option as edit menus.
Now menu layout will come and now click on the internet from menus section and delete the old firefox item from the item section under that menu.Now click on new item and fill up all,as
1-icon from firefox/chrome/icons/default
firefox(extracted firefox folder)
2-name-firefox ar anything u want
3-comment -fill or leave blank
4-command- firefox/firefox

1st firefox in the extracted dir and 2nd is the executable insde that folder.

Now done.Now create links from that firefox put it on desktop or use it from Appication menu.
but one thing-do it in each user.
